Just like Chromeo...I'm Business Casual

Business Casual
Could this outfit be anymore away from my norm?
It's completely business, with no party in sight (meaning no mullet)...just work work work.

To put this "odd for me" outfit together I just started pulling neutrals from my closet(s) and before I knew it this was born.  Or, er...I ran out of time to try again is more like it.  Somehow, with all the different shades of brown, it still works.

I've been wearing the cardigan a lot.  It makes for a good coverup-and leopard print, we know I love!
The blouse, honestly I forgot I bought this before my vacation back in October...tie fronts, yes please!
But the skirt, blek!  I tried to give it a chance, having worn it only once last year...but its not for me.  It does nothing for me, could it be that its too long to fit my preference as a miniskirt?  I don't even think its that, it just does something odd to me that I am not down with.
Soooooo kiddies, I'm going to put it in my swap shop, Swappy Seconds, later this week--have at it.

This outfit, so out of the ordinary for me...and so are New Year's Resolutions.  But sometimes a girl needs some goals, and a trainwreck needs to get back on track.
This outfit reminds me of how put together I can be when I try.
With that being said, if I state a few goals here, I will keep at them for fear you might inquire about my progress later on:

-listed in order of importance

1. Do not drink in severe excess; have fun but quit falling down!
2. Go to the gym at least 2x/week, preferably 3x, get rid of holiday cookie gut
3. Blog more consistently, I'm busy working...so I'm going with AT LEAST 3x/week
4.  Watch at least one Netflix movie/week
(this sounds "horrid" I know, but I have had the same movie here for over a month not even touched yet.  The $$$$ I'm wasting!)

So kids, I'm back...and hopefully organized and with my wits in tact.
Welcome 2011, lets hope it doesn't go downhill (healthwise and prosperity) like my last few months  did in 2010.

Great resolutions! Good luck with blogging more frequently. I miss your blog posts when you're on hiatus:) And for the record your neutrals outfit is rad! I love those boots!

I really like this outfit... I think just all the different colors and prints coming together so well really visually appeals to me. Also, the shiny tights and leopard print. Haha.

My New Years resolutions include:
1) Keep Trying New Things (last year I started liking avocado and tomatoes. Ok, maybe still working on the tomato part)
2) Find some kind of cure for these damn hangovers I get. I've tried the "not drinking in excess" thing but let's be honest, for my last semester in college I just don't think it will work out... so I'm taking another route with that one. :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Over a month???

Please woman, I've had two Mad Men DVDS at my house for almost a year. I am paying $15 a month for them to rent space at MY OWN HOME. I like that resolution.

Also, although this is out of your comfort zone- you look great. And while that skirt isn't working in your mind, your legs still like 10 miles long.

Love it.

Dearest Nickie,

For New Year's my boyfriend, oh yeah Sam, you know him you met him... that's so awesome by the way... anyways he has requested that I no longer use the word totes in place of totally.

Also, we should video chat because I joked with Mel that I had M&M's beside my bed. She was worried they had expired or gone stale. :)

I can't quite articulate how much I love this outfit. If it makes you feel better (or makes me look worse) I haven't sent back my 3 netflix from last march. Something traumatic happened while watching them and I can't bring myself to return them.

looove it! the plaid and the leopard and the taupe, oh my! also usually i think that over-the-knee boots look crazy on people, but you are seriously rocking the shit out of them here. well played :)

this whole outfit works in your favor, me thinks. i like how the shiny tights kinda break everything up and those boots make your legs look a-MAY-ziiiing. my "resolutions" are silly but i'm also on board with the whole drinking thing. mostly because i always end up being the responsible one driving everyone home when the night originally started out in the opposite direction. it's exhausting and not fun so alcohol is on time out.

Use your Netflix streaming!
TOTALLY makes it fine, $-wise, if you keep a hard disc for a month.
I stream on my laptop and also my tv through my bluray.
I went down to the one-disc-at-time plan because I was streaming so much.
It rules. There is soooo much content + no commercials + you can watch a whole season of something in one sitting, if you were so motivated.
yay netflix streaming.
(no I do not own stock, just a fan)
