Weekend Rewind: April 23-25, 2010

Oh what a busy week I had, only now am I getting time to sit down and blog.
As you know, my Aveda friend was in town due to her interview (which after cutting/highlighting my hair she promptly was hired...SHE's that GOOD!) so I had a lot of running around with that group the past few days.

I think now my life is slow again and I'll be back to blogging on a more regular basis.
First off, let's recap my past two days' outfits:

I met up with my BF and some friends. I wanted to hang out with my friend since it was her last night in town (awesomely enough, she moves here in 2 weeks and she's going to be living right down the street from me!).
It was a night of dive bars and silly antics in the old-style photobooth at the bar.
Surely a dive bar is not the place I need to be all spiffily dressed, just that sometimes a dress gives me that little boost needed to get me excited to be out "on the town".

I opted for a Kensie dress that Mel gave to me. She had worn it to the Chictopia party at the Tribeca Grand...now I was wearing it for a night in the city.

My new hair was behaving quite nicely on Friday too.
It was tussled just the way I wanted, piecey and textured just the way I needed, and just so RIGHT for running around the East Village.
I was happy with my "look" for Friday night.

On Saturday I hauled butt up to Williamsburg to meet up for an ever so fun brunch with my blogger buddies-Idee_Geniale, Showgirl Godzilla, and Dusty Rose Vintage.
I really have to say, we have so many laughs and such a good time hanging out-it was great to catch up with them because its been a few weeks since we've had time to hang out.

Again, my hair was properly doing its thing. When hair behaves, that just makes everything else a little easier in terms of getting ready. For Saturday I opted to go the route of my usual "rock girl" look. Is that even a good thing to call it?
I had cleaned out my closet last weekend to which I came across a suitcase full of clothing from the thrift store that I had forgotten I even owned. It must've been in the back of the closet for at least 3 years-and the trunk itself had not been open in at least 5! So it was quite a delight when I stumbled across this vintage Firehouse t-shirt. While Firehouse is a pretty crappy band, I've got to say the shirt looks a whole lot cooler than they actually were. Ok no worries, I think I managed to hold my own in the silly Firehouse shirt.

And today--Sunday, a day of rest!
Going out for 4-5days in a row, working in between the socializing, well its enough to successfully tire an old lady like me.
Let's just say maybe I haven't gotten out of my PJs yet, oh and its already 9:30pm.
Nice

How was everyone else's weekend????

There is nothing better than a night of dive bars! My friend and I were going to have a similar night on Saturday but it ended up turning into drinking a bottle of wine, talking and then watching the movie Witches. LOL I love that movie. Its totally the reason our generation is nuts.

I love the new hair too. The color is great. I have been thinking of lightening mine but I am chicken. I dyed my hair for like 12 years straight and then went to my real color. Now it freaks me out to dye it again...

I LOVE THE HAIR! I mean, when you described it as a little Rod Stewart-ish, I had a feeling it would come out looking great.

I too have been going non-stop since Monday night. I went out EVERY night this week (which is totally not like me). Which is why I am curled up in bed yawning right now!

Love the hair. I don't usually use the word fierce seriously, but I think that's the proper word here. Goregous!

Oooh, your going out outfit is fabulous. Your hair looks great! I like how your outfit is mostly black but then has the blue in there... very subtle in a nightlife setting I'm sure! I love little details like that.
