Daily Wear: Thrift Store Skirt I never EVER wear.

Vintage Skirt
You're going to have to forgive my creepy looking facial expressions, and puffy face in these photos.  The facial expressions are due to the sun being in my eyes--blinding I tell you, and it kinda makes it hard to "Smile with your Eyes" a-la Tyra style when the rays are burning your retina.
Puffy face, that I don't really know what's going on or why...I blame it on the fact that it was morning time (yes!  I actually made it up the roof for outfit shots before work for once...that's total a-la Idee_geniale style isn't it?  Mel's hardcore like that...she's very good about taking her outfit shots before work.  I somehow can't seem to get out of bed that extra 5min early in order to have time for that)

Anyhoo...
Let's talk skirts!  This particular skirt, is just what I'm going to tell you about.
I got it at my beloved Ohio thrift store of course, where else would I get it?  I think I've had it tucked away in my skirt drawer for 3 years now.  I wore it only one time before, on a separate trip to Ohio to visit the BFF.  And then, not sure why I forgot it...actually I never forgot it, I chose to ignore it.  I think its a strange length that I'm not used to wearing a lot of.  Or maybe its because no one in my office really wears vintage and most of the time if I do I well its noticeable against a sea of mass marketed wears.  On occasion, such as this time, I like to go out on that limb and just wear the vintage to work--so they either like it or the don't, who cares?
Yeah.  So I took this skirt out of its little spot, wrapped it around my body (it's a wrap skirt) and headed off.  Can't say it was a hit, it just didn't get any responses from the peers.  No problem though...as I said, its an odd length, clearly nothing the others would find themselves gravitating to, and well let me just tell you--I feel a bit like Alice from the Brady Bunch in this skirt.  I think she always wore navy blue dresses with a similar A-line flare to them, right?  Or am I making this up?  Regardless I feel like Alice, and she was probably the lamest thing about that show.

In a nutshell, its not a favorite skirt by any means, but I don't dislike it either.  It's just one of those things so easy to ignore.  But in the end, I'm glad I pulled it out and gave it another go round.
(now, off to watch some netflix goodness before I pass out).

It looks great on you! I'm a sucker for 70s style wrap skirts. As you mentioned it's not exactly the belle of the ball in terms of wardrobe excitement maybe it's a good piece to wear with something that is a little over the top?

ha ha smeyes a la Tyra! I love it. Somehow in all of my pictures i'm staring at the sun and I can't seem to keep my eyes open. I know what you mean by those pieces that are easy to ignore. I definitely have my favorite pieces and then those that are cute but not awesome that I tend to let the dust settle on.

You know what....I would kill for your skirt. It's totally a thing that's in at least in Sweden...tons a gals wear similar looking skirts as yours. I would not want to wear it there though...I like to look a little off.....ahead of the curve hopefully...HA HA HA...so you rock!

And your Cameo necklace...as I've mentioned before...I heart!!

Hope you're having a great weekend. I'm finally on a roll...in the "fall mode"...know what I mean? I just had to get off the net a little. HA HA HA

Love,
